Project 6/7/8/9 is a solo acoustic project I’ve had in the works for a few years. It covers songs from the 60s through the 90s. Some of the songs covered are from early and mid Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Donovan and others leading through the Byrds and on to the artists who flocked to Laurel Canyon, such as Buffalo Springfield, CSN, Warren Zevon, Jackson Browne and many others. Project 6/7/8/9 is finalizing and I’ll keep posting its status.

This was my rig yesterday on the Bud Light Alternative Stage at Arts Beats and Eats in downtown Royal Oak, Michigan.

Good sound setup, a cool, receptive crowd and the weather held out. The stage was right behind railroad tracks and a massive freight train came through, cruising at about four miles an hour. It blew its horn right in the middle of a song and I, being unaware of the train, thought my synth blew up or something with the sound system went haywire since it was at around the same volume level as the monitors. I turned and saw the train then realized what was going on. I’m happy to say I didn’t miss a beat. The train rumbled through for about ten minutes, leaving a trail of diesel exhaust to breath in. Stage life at an outdoor venue!

I’ll be performing at Arts Beats and Eats in downtown Royal Oak, Michigan on Friday August 30th from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on the Bud Light Alternative Stage. Arts Beats and Eats is a huge event in Southeastern Michingan with over 50+ eateries, 100+ visual artists and along with tons of local and national musicians playing on nine separate stages.
